Measles

There has been a significant rise in measles cases in parts of the UK and Euprope.

Measles is a highly contagious, serious airborne disease caused by a virus that can lead to severe complications and death.

The most effective way to control measles is by achieving high uptake of 2 doses of measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine.

If you have not received your MMR vaccines get in touch with your GP surgery.

Please note that this vaccine is contraindicated in pregnancy so before getting pregnant talk to your GP surgery about having your MMR vaccines as contracting measles during pregnancy can lead to severe complications for the baby and the pregnancy. Avoid getting pregnant for 1 month after having the MMR vaccination.
